We invite you to join the Spinsters to volunteer during Compass's Spring Benefit!

Compass Family Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in San Francisco, California, that provides a wide variety of services to families that are experiencing homelessness and those that are at-risk.

The primary volunteer responsibility will be to provide support during the fund the need portion of the program (using flashlights to spotlight the number the donor is identifying).

DRESS CODE: The dress code for the event is cocktail attire, but volunteers are welcome to wear business casual attrire.

Join yoga teacher Darren Main for this weekly class surrounded by the awe-inspiring architecture of Grace Cathedral. Set to live music from world-renowned musicians, this weekly practice of yoga and meditation looks and feels like the amazing diversity of San Francisco itself.

What to Bring: Please bring a yoga mat and any other yoga props you wish to use. Mats are avaliable for rental. Only water is permitted in the cathedral. Dress in warm, comfortable exercise clothes as the cathedral can be quite cool. If you have any serious injuries or medical concerns, please discuss practicing yoga with your doctor.

Kicks for a Cause Kickball Tournament Benefitting San Francisco SafeHouse

Join Spinsters of San Francisco in fundraising for San Francisco SafeHouse at our annual Kicks for a Cause Kickball Tournament!

Whether you put together a team with your fiercest friends or you're looking to make new ones by joining up as a free agent, we are ready to see your best kickball moves out on the field! Expect team prizes for the winners, as well as an afterparty to follow at Westwood.

How to Participate:

When registering for a particular team, indicate your team captain during ticket purchase (or declare yourself as the team captain). If you’re a free agent, we will put you on a team and notify you before the event. For groups smaller than 10, name a team captain for your group and we'll team you up with others to make a full squad. Teams need at least 10 co-ed participants, with a maximum of 15 players (and at least 4 girls - which shouldn't be a problem!). If you would like to come to the event, but don't want to play, no problem! Just write "N/A" for your captain. If you would like to play kickball, but don't have a team, no problem! Just write "free agent" for your captain.

Already have your team of 10 - 15 players and want to score the best deal on tickets? Purchase a team ticket that includes player tickets and admission to the after party for up to fifteen team members. Limited number of team tickets available, so act fast!

Afterparty:

After the tournament, join us at Westwood (2036 Lombard St.), where they're opening the doors early for us and donating 5%-10% of drink proceeds!

SOSF Prospective New Member Event: Bouquets to Art Gala Volunteering

One of the Museums' most popular events, Bouquets to Art is a display of floral designs that take inspiration from the works of art in the de Young's galleries. Volunteer with your fellow Spinnies at the de Young's opening night gala! All event proceeds will help underwrite exhibitions, conservation projects, and education programs at the Fine Arts Museums in San Francisco. Volunteers will sell raffle tickets at the event, greet guests, and answer questions.

Dress code: Black business attire/cocktail with comfortable shoes. Organizer will provide fascinators and aprons.

Volunteers will circulate throughout the de Young Museum’s Wilsey Court greeting guests and interesting them in fabulous raffle prizes. Raffle information, training materials, aprons and fascinators will be provided to all volunteers. A member of the Bouquets to Art Raffle Committee will be available to assist when needed.

Spinsters of San Francisco is proud to partner with SF SafeHouse and Westwood to host our 14th Annual Fleet or Flight Party! 

Don your best sailor or aviator attire and come out to support Spinsters’ nonprofit partner, SF SafeHouse. SF SafeHouse helps to “empower and support womxn who are experiencing housing instability and sexual exploitation or trafficking, by creating survivor-centered spaces, services, advocacy, and community education.”

Tickets include unlimited signature cocktails and beer from our special Fleet or Flight menu for the first hour and additional drink deals for the remainder of the event, plus exclusive access to Westwood's speakeasy space from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.

We encourage themed attire.

Raffle prizes include gift cards, spirits, experiences, and more!

All proceeds from the event will benefit San Francisco SafeHouse. In addition, Westwood will be generously donating 10% of the bar proceeds from the evening.

The Guardsmen and Spinsters of San Francisco Fourth Friday Happy Hour

Not making the trek to Indio for Stagecoach? Join The Guardsmen and Spinsters of San Francisco for San Francisco Stagecoach at Jaxson (outdoor area) instead!

Jaxson is generously donating a portion of proceeds, half of which will go to support The Guardsmen programs to enrich the lives of local at-risk youth through campership and scholarship, and half to support Compass Family Services, this year’s nonprofit partner of the Spinsters of San Francisco. Spinsters of San Francisco Prospective New Member Event: Roller Skating

Remember the days of our youth spent at the roller rink? Come join active members and meet other Prospective New Members for an exciting night of Roller Skating!

To join, please RSVP and arrive at Church of 8 Wheels to meet the rest of the group. Pricing is $15 to enter, $5 for skate rental. The venue is CASH ONLY and the closest ATM is in the bodega across the street so please come prepared.
