Now in her third term as President, Laura Davis is a sixth-generation Californian hailing from sunny Sacramento. She has always loved the Bay Area and was confident she couldn't imagine spending her college years anywhere else. She graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Environmental Science with a minor in City and Regional Planning. While at CAL, she was the Social Chair, New Member Educator, and Recruitment Counselor for her sorority Alpha Phi.
After graduating, she moved across the bay for the plentiful frozen yogurt, great wine bars, and to check off all the restaurants in her Zagat Restaurant Guide Book. Laura, although a huge fan of the sun, loves to relax while watching the fog roll in over the Golden Gate Bridge and sipping her favorite Pinot with fellow Spinnies. She is a huge San Francisco Giants fan; during a home game, your chance of finding her at AT&T Park or across the street at Pedro's are very high. She thrives on a packed social calendar and loves to get dolled up for black-tie events including our Annual Ball held in June in the Penthouse Swig Suite at the Fairmont Hotel.
Look for her this year at some of her other favorite Spinnie events - Potluck Dinners, Wine Tour, and New Member Tea - or just brunching with the best Eggs Benedict and Mimosas around town. After serving as Membership Director in 2012 and President from 2012-2014, Laura is absolutely thrilled and honored to be the President once again!
Jamie Lee Taylor
Jamie grew up in Seattle, New Jersey and California - her dad served in the Navy and has wanderlust! She studied Political Science at Bucknell University for 2 years before finishing her college experience at Wake Forest. Although never in a classic sorority, Jamie enjoyed playing club volleyball all four years of college. She is now honored to call San Francisco her home. Her love for our city's people, food, and history is what keeps her falling in love with the city over and over again!
A genuine San Francisco community member, Jamie also dedicates her time to Encore. When not giving back to the community or putting on unforgettable events at work and for these organizations, Jamie can be found hosting epic dinner parties, holiday parties, and birthday excursions or cooking incredible food and catching up with close friends over a glass of wine. Jamie is an exquisite host. As someone who has moved around a lot, Jamie deeply values the relationships she has developed in her three years as a Spinster. She has met her best friends and truly built a family.
Between putting on incredible Membership Events in her first year and a flawless Patrons Reception, as she did during her first year and second year in Spinsters and as the Co-Chair, every detail is impeccable! Jamie never misses an opportunity to Volunteer at the Guardsmen Tree Lot every Holiday Season with her Spinnies. She loves the Charity Parties where everyone can get creative and really embrace the theme. Look for Jamie at her favorite events or enjoying Sushi and Old Cubans!
Miss Spinster Liberty was born and raised in the sunny and infamous Laguna Beach among her huge family of nine children. She traveled to Chicago where she attended Wheaton College for four years to escape the sunshine. There she studied Business and Economics. She was the Co-founder and President of the Wheaton Women in Business Club and the President of the Student Publications Committee.
Despite her Southern California upbringing, her love for the Bay is strong. In her free time, Liberty is usually cheering on the Giants at a baseball game, walking with friends, tapping it back at a Soul Cycle class, sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge, taking cooking classes, building Pinterest boards, and checking restaurants off of the 7x7's Big Eat list. She loves technology, interior design, attempting to cook anything Thomas Keller, G&T's or Moscow Mules in a copper mug, finding new music, and discovering hidden San Francisco gems. With a dad who attended West Point, she got her love of problem solving and connecting people from him. She has been called more resourceful than Google and the yellow pages combined.
As the Patrons Reception Co-Chair last year and logistics Vice Chair the year before, Liberty will never disappoint with her love of planning and executing a flawless event - plus she loves any excuse to put on an epic costume or exquisite ball gown to dance the night away with her Spinnies. Annual Ball and Fleet or Flight are her favorite among many annual events. She is thrilled to be your Miss Spinnie where she can show her own flare and creativity on everything she touches!
Andrea hails from the lovely Portland, Oregon. She first moved to the Bay Area to attend Santa Clara University where she fell in love with sunny California while studying Accounting. While at Santa Clara, Andrea loved making new girlfriends and getting to be an active member of her sorority Alpha Phi.
During her five years in Spinsters, Andrea has served as a Co-Chair on both the Happy Hour and Membership Selection Committees. Andrea’s favorite Spinsters events are Annual Ball, the Fall and Spring Potlucks, and General Meetings. She also loves volunteering for the Guardsmen at the Annual Tree Lot. She jumps at the opportunity to get to know Spinnies in her neighborhood on a more personal level.
Outside of Spinsters, her passions include going to see live music and tasting wine at local wineries. Andrea takes any opportunity to enjoy breathtaking views of San Francisco while experiencing the amazing food and creative drinks the city has to offer. She can frequently be found enjoying the Spicy Tuna Salad from Blue Barn and a goblet of Rose. Andrea also brings a warm, approachable personality and an innovative spirit to the position of Treasurer and will make our year truly unforgettable!
Kathleen is a San Jose native. She studied English Literature at Arizona State University. While in college, she was an active member in her sorority Alpha Phi. It was then as the Vice President of Program Development that she honed her skills and developed her passion for membership, sisterhood, education and risk management. She was thrilled to come back to the Bay Area as she loves the unique "little big city vibe" of San Francisco.
Last year Kathleen served as the Membership Events Co-Chair, was a member of the Membership Selection Committee. She was also on the Father Daughter /Mother Daughter and Membership Events committees during her first year in Spinsters. During her three years in Spinsters, she has loved getting to know and work with numerous charities within our city - her favorite being Muttville!
With her love of discovering the hidden San Francisco gems and indulging in delicious Italian food and Pinot Noir, Kathleen is the classic San Francisco modern-day woman. You can frequently find her reading a book on just about anything, bottomless brunching with friends, line-dancing at a country bar or concert, hanging out with horses, fostering dogs or catching up on the latest Netflix!
Kathleen cherishes the lifelong relationships she has created while in Spinsters thus far. Her dream is for everyone to get the most out of their membership. She is an expert on discovering new ways to have fun and experience the city, and can't wait to oversee unforgettable activities that bring together our members and create lasting memories!
Native to the Bay Area, Colette grew up in Petaluma and attended Saint Mary's College of California where she studied Business Administration and Finance. While in college, she was involved on dance and waterski teams. She was also the President of the Student Alumni Association and Co-Chair of the Senior Gift Committee. Colette is currently working on her Masters in Non-Profit Administration from the University of San Francisco.
It’s no wonder that Colette is such a philanthropist herself. Besides being involved in non-profit work at the office, Colette has held the position of Charity Outreach Co-Chair and has been a member of our organization for three years. With a passion for giving back to our community, Colette is constantly seeking out new charitable organizations and avenues for Spinsters to be involved in the community. She is actively involved with Students Rising Above and is on the Women's Leadership Council at Saint Mary's. She brings this passion for philanthropy and an abundance of knowledge to the role of Charity Director for the 2015-2016 year.
When not giving her all to charity events, Colette can be found utilizing her History Minor at local museums, trying out new restaurants in the city, or exploring all the diverse neighborhoods the city has to offer. She loves enjoying a cheese platter with an ice cold glass of champagne. If you're ever looking for someone to explore the city with, she's your girl!
Brooke was born a Southern Californian in Westlake Village and went to High School in Calabasas. She got her first taste of the Bay Area when she attended UC Berkeley where she studied Business Administration. While in college she served at the Secretary and VP Chapter Correspondent for the sorority Tri-Delta, where she had the tricky task of managing initiation ceremonies and standards.
Brooke is the ultimate Renaissance Woman. While not attending her favorite city events like Annual Ball or Maiden Lane, she can be found working with CoachArt where she mentors and paints each week with an amazingly talented 15 year old cancer patient. Also in her free time, Brooke could be out dancing to electronic underground music, painting or crafting for her apartment (she was a commissioned artist in high school) or exploring all the our seven mile city has to offer. You can often find her enjoying Burmese Food or sipping on a Jack Satan cocktail at Comal in Berkeley!
Brooke is entering her third year in Spinsters and previously led the Holiday Ball Committee as Co-Chair. In her first year she was on the Charity Outreach and Annual Ball Committees. She is consistently impressed by all the women she meets in Spinsters and loves any opportunity to enjoy their company. She is ecstatic to serve as Committee Director this year and is sure to bring a new level of enthusiasm and fun to the amazing women that make our organization so special.
